Ahab’s Rolling Sea: Tracing Our Perceptions of the Ocean through Moby-Dick
Monday, November 9, at 7:30 p.m.
Richard J. King, a visiting professor at the Sea Education Association in Woods Hole, MA, who grew up in Lower Merion, sails (virtually) into the Delaware County Institute of Science Speaker Series to tell the story of Ahab’s Rolling Sea: A Natural History of Moby-Dick. For this talk, you absolutely do NOT need to have read the novel. King, an entertaining speaker, will present about how we may use Melville’s masterpiece as a benchmark to shed light on our own current knowledge of marine biology and oceanography—as well as how we perceive and steward the ocean today. Attendees can register on www.delcoscience.org/lectures
