January 2022 Programs

Welcome to another year at the J. Lewis Crozer Library. January’s programs feature two virtual presentations — one about playing eSports in college and and another about Martin Luther King, Jr.’s influence on education and ministry. You can also pick up this month’s craft or stop by with a digital dilemma question.

Playing eSports in College

Thursday, January 13, 2022, online at 7:30 p.m.

Teens and Parents:  Join us online to learn more about playing eSports in college.  Representatives from Montgomery County Community College, Neumann University, and Widener University will talk about their eSports programs.  You’ll learn about recruitment, scholarships, connections to academic and career paths, and more.  You’ll also find out what you should be doing now to prepare for playing at the collegiate level.  Click here to register and receive the Zoom link.

Following in the footsteps of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Monday, January 17, 2022, online at 7:00 p.m.

Register for this online event and join us as we continue and expand on the “MLK in Chester” conversation from January 2021.  Our moderator, the Rev. Keith Dickens (Parkside United Methodist Church, Camden, NJ), former associate pastor at Calvary Baptist Church in Chester, will talk with the Rev. Dr. Amos C. Brown (Third Baptist Church, San Francisco, CA) and the Rev. Dr. J. Wendell Mapson, Jr. (Monumental Baptist Church, Philadelphia, PA) who trod the same educational path as Dr. King, attending Morehouse College and Crozer Theological Seminary.  Joining the conversation will be the Rev. Dr. Tokunbo Adelekan, professor at Palmer Theological Seminary. We’re looking forward to hearing more about MLK’s influence on their education, their faith, and their ministries. Click here to register and receive the Zoom link.
