SUMMARY:Frank Morrison Scavenger Hunt
DESCRIPTION:Celebrate creativity\, storytelling\, and bold visual art this summer with a special scavenger hunt inspired by award-winning illustrator Frank Morrison. Known for his expressive style\, hip-hop roots\, and powerful depictions of everyday life\, Morrison’s work comes to life through this fun\, interactive challenge for kids\, tweens\, teens\, and families. \nSearch the library using ten clues\, each connected to Morrison’s art\, life\, or books. Every clue reveals a hidden letter. Unscramble all ten letters to uncover a final message\, then head to the front desk to claim your reward—a brag tag and a bag of art-themed goodies. \nYou can pick up a scavenger hunt sheet at the front desk or download it here to begin your adventure. \nThis program is part of Journey Across Delco\, a countywide summer initiative celebrating picture book illustrators and encouraging families to explore all 28 member libraries. Be sure to grab a Journey Across Delco game sheet on your visit or download it online. As you travel from library to library\, match each featured book cover to the correct spot on your sheet\, write down the library’s name\, and collect a unique brag tag at every stop. \nCome explore\, get inspired\, and celebrate art with us all summer long!

SUMMARY:Motivational Author Talk with Addie L. Robinson
DESCRIPTION:Join us for an empowering and uplifting event with local author Addie L. Robinson as she shares her 2023 nonfiction book\, A Queen Like Me: From Rags to Riches—a powerful story of resilience\, personal growth\, and self-worth. \nWritten with care for adult women from all backgrounds\, A Queen Like Me follows one woman’s search for fulfillment in all the wrong places—and the many unexpected turns her life takes along the way. Her journey through setbacks\, heartbreak\, and self-discovery is both deeply personal and widely relatable\, with a powerful twist at the end that challenges readers to reflect on their own path. \nThe event includes a reading\, open Q&A and discussion\, and a book signing with copies available for purchase. Light refreshments will be served\, and attendees will be entered to win one of several self-care baskets\, each including a signed copy of the book. \nFree and open to the public—no registration required.  \nAbout the Author\nBorn in 1959 as the youngest of five children\, Addie L. Robinson grew up in Philadelphia and was the first among her siblings to graduate from college. After the early loss of both parents\, she spent much of her youth living with siblings and extended family—experiences that shaped her resilience and deepened her drive to persevere. \nMs. Robinson holds an associate\, bachelor’s\, and master’s degree in communication\, earning her master’s from Southern New Hampshire University in 2020. She is the Founder and Dean of the Ever-Evolving School of Ministerial Studies\, where she has developed original curriculums to educate and empower others. \nIn addition to writing A Queen Like Me\, she leads women’s conferences\, teaches community-based classes\, and speaks publicly on healing\, purpose\, and faith. She shares her passion for ministry and storytelling alongside her daughter and remains committed to lifting others through her voice and her work.
