Digital Skills Workshops

Digital Skills Workshops is a program led by the Delaware County Workforce Development Board in collaboration with the Delaware County Literacy Council, the J. Lewis Crozer Library, Upper Darby Libraries, and Delaware County CareerLink. These workshops are designed to help students master essential technology skills for both personal and professional use. Whether new to digital technology or looking to strengthen specific skills, students will find these workshops helpful regardless of their skill level. The workshops are made possible by a generous ARPA grant from Delaware County.

These FREE workshops are being offered at five sites:

Workshop 1 — Basic Computer Literacy

Attend sessions starting the week of August 23rd and ending the week of September 13th and learn the basics of using a device.

Workshop 2 — Communication Basics

Attend sessions starting the week of October 4th and ending the week of October 25th to learn about email and video conferencing.

Workshop 3 — Internet Literacy

These sessions from the week of November 8th through the week of December 6th will show you how to be an efficient and savvy user of the Internet.

Workshop 4 — Information Literacy

In these sessions, learn how to search effectively and find out about the many resources available to you through Delaware County Libraries and PA CareerLink. Held the week of January 10th through the week of January 31st.

Workshop 5 — CareerLink Workforce Development System

These sessions cover CWDS — how to navigate the website, how to create a resume, and how to search for a job. Attend these sessions starting the week of February 14th through the week of March 7th.

Workshop 6 — Social Network Literacy

Looking to friend, tweet, post? Wondering if you should trust what you see on social media? Attend these sessions from the week of March 21st through the week of April 11th and develop social media skills.

Workshop 7 — Advanced Workplace Skills + Google Suite

This final workshop from the week of April 25th through the week of May 30th covers productivity tools used in many workplaces, including creating, editing, and sharing documents, presentations, and spreadsheets.
