Revitalize the Friends of the J. Lewis Crozer Library
As the sole public library serving the City of Chester, the J. Lewis Crozer Library is more than just a building with books—it’s a dynamic hub where information, ideas, and opportunities flow freely, a safe and welcoming environment of knowledge and connectivity throughout the community.
Our Mission in Action
The mission of the J. Lewis Crozer Library, “Together, we empower Chester and beyond by ensuring equitable access to information, ideas, and opportunities, and by cultivating welcoming environments that nurture lifelong learning, foster meaningful connections, and strengthen our communities,” is more than a statement—it is a commitment to each individual in Chester. This commitment comes to life through a wide variety of programs, resources, and services designed to meet the diverse needs and interests of community members.
From the tactile pages of print materials to the digital realms of free Wi-Fi and electronic resources, the library serves as a beacon of inclusivity. Public computer access and lendable hotspots help to narrow the digital divide, while the outdoor StoryWalk® invites people of all ages, as well as families, to combine literacy with the joy of spending time outdoors. At the J. Lewis Crozer Library, every service and program is thoughtfully curated to nurture exploration, creativity, connection, and empowerment.
The Role of Friends in our Journey

As we look to revitalize this crucial group, we are calling on individuals like you—those who see the value in a thriving library and are ready to advocate for its continued success.
