Joining the passionate community of volunteers at the J. Lewis Crozer Library allows you to serve your community by maintaining the library’s collections and information resources. In addition, volunteers play a crucial role in promoting education and enrichment among the residents of Chester.
To volunteer, one should possess a genuine appreciation for books, the library, public service, and the diverse communities we serve. A commitment to maintaining a consistent schedule, as agreed upon with your supervisor, is also essential. Volunteers at the library must be 14 years of age or older. Please note that participation in the Volunteer Program is subject to the availability of positions.
All applicants are required to complete the Volunteer Application and provide up-to-date clearances for Pennsylvania State Child Abuse, FBI Fingerprinting, and Pennsylvania Criminal Background checks.
Application Process
To apply, simply complete the Volunteer Application form and submit it to the Director via email, fax, or in person. If you prefer, you can also collect a physical form from the Library’s Customer Service Desk.
We accept applications continuously, and they will be kept on file. We will contact volunteer applicants when a suitable position becomes available that aligns with their skills and interests.
