The J. Lewis Crozer Library gratefully accepts donations of books and other valuable materials. Donations are accepted only during open hours and should be contained in one (1) sturdy box or bag that is easy to carry. Please do not leave materials outside the library or in the book drop. An acknowledgment form is available upon request.
Materials are accepted under the following provisions:
- All donated materials become the property of the J. Lewis Crozer Library and are subject to its policies and procedures.
- Materials must be in new or “gently used” condition; we will not accept materials in poor condition.
- The Library reserves the right to accept or discard any donated materials at its discretion, including the option to sell items at library book sales.
The Library will NOT accept the following:
- Damaged books or materials, including those with broken bindings, missing or torn pages, soiling, mold, mustiness, smoke or water damage, or excessive writing in the text.
- CDs or books on CD.
- VHS tapes or audio cassettes.
- Magazines (including National Geographic) or newspapers.
- Condensed books (Reader’s Digest).
- Time-Life books.
- Dated publications like old encyclopedias, almanacs, tax guides, travel guides, medical and technical books, and textbooks older than five years.
