About Greener Partners

Greener Partners’ mission is to strengthen community health through urban farming, equitable fresh food access, and discovery-based learning, believing that all people should be able to access fresh food in the communities in which they live. Founded in 2008, the organization has partnered with schools, hospitals, and community organizations to develop underutilized land into productive urban gardens that provide fresh food for communities experiencing food insecurity. They address barriers to healthy eating through hands-on gardening, cooking, and nutrition education, as well as through no-cost fruit and vegetable distributions, and their seed-to-plate lessons are based on research that shows when garden education is combined with food education, people eat more fruits and vegetables. Additionally, studies show that fresh food access is more effective when combined with food education. Learn more about Greener Partners’ incredible work by visiting their website here!
